Who Wants In On The Facebook IPO?

November 30, 2011 4 comments

Facebook has been rumored to be going public for years now.  The time when that becomes a reality may finally be upon us.

Since it was developed back in 2004, Facebook has always remained a privately held company (with Mark Zuckerberg owning the about 24% of the company easily making him the biggest shareholder).  But if recent rumors are to be believed, that’s all about to change.  Facebook is anticipating taking the company public in a deal that could value the company as much as $100 billion.  The IPO is expected to hit the market in March or April of 2012.

For regular folks, this news means very little (since it doesn’t affect the product you see on the internet).  For financial experts, the news is huge (since Facebook could be the largest initial public offering ever).  For savvy investors though, it means just one thing.  How do we get in?

The End Of Occupy Wall Street? Police Start Raiding Camps

November 30, 2011 3 comments

Looks like police and local governments are starting to reach the end of their patience with the Occupy Wall Street movement.

I’ve had a list of stuff that’s popped up in the news scribbled down for a couple of weeks now.  I’d planned on writing on each one of them but as the list grows longer and my available time to write about them grows shorter I decided to bunch them all together here and comment on them rapid-fire style.

Without further adieu, let’s catch up on the latest in the news!

November 29, 2011 6 comments

Just when it seemed like the sexual harrassment allegations against Herman Cain were starting to simmer down……….he’s BAAAAAAAAAAACK!!!!!!!!!!!

In case you haven’t read the story, Ginger White, a businesswoman from Atlanta, claims that she and Cain carried on a 13-year extramarital affair that ended only when Cain started his run toward the presidency.  Cain, of course, has denied that anything happened.

I don’t know if any of it is true or not but this gal’s story seems believable.  She’s not making wild accusations or claims of a love child or anything.  She simply says that she knew it was wrong but it was just simple fun.  Plus, she’s handed over phone records that seem to show that she and Cain regularly traded phone calls and text messages.

Random Things That Annoy Me

November 28, 2011 9 comments

I’m taking a little bit of a deviation from the normal post you usually see here.  The holidays (especially Thanksgiving and Black Friday) have a tendency to bring out the best of the human spirit (sarcasm alert on the Black Friday part).  After reading about some of the wonderful stories of people doing their Christmas shopping, I decided to put  together a list of some of the random things I saw this weekend that annoyed the hell out of me.  Yes, all of these things actually happened this weekend.

People who flip on their hazard lights and think it makes anywhere a legal parking space
